October is Vegetarian Awareness Month, and the Robson Ranch Cigar Meetup is proud to announce that we have been supporting leafy greens for years. We simply prefer ours aged, hand-rolled, and on fire.
Join us Oct. 28 as we celebrate the bounty of the earth with fine cigars, questionable stories, and a group of men whose doctors really should stop asking, “Are you getting enough greens?”
Yes, Doc. Imported ones. In a humidor.
Our esteemed Cigar Kings, Mike and David, will preside over this celebration of agricultural achievement. Tobacco is a leaf. Bourbon begins with grain. Beer involves barley and hops. By our calculations, we’re practically a farmers market with lawn chairs.
Please do not forward those calculations to a registered dietitian.
In keeping with the theme, we considered asking everyone to bring a vegetable. Then we remembered AJ was coming, and there’s no sense overdoing it.
AJ has already announced that he doesn’t understand vegetarianism. This marks the first time he has admitted not understanding something before explaining it to everyone for 45 minutes.
The evening’s menu will feature no kale, no quinoa, and absolutely nothing described as a “meat alternative.” At our age, we’ve already accepted enough disappointing substitutes: decaf coffee, low-sodium bacon, and getting up from a chair in three separate attempts.
We did consider serving a plant-based burger, but nobody could agree on which plant manufactures a decent cheeseburger.
Whether you favor a mild cigar, a bold cigar, or simply sitting around enjoying a drink and good company, there’s a chair for you. You don’t have to smoke to join us. You just need a sense of humor and the ability to hear the same story twice without demanding a refund.
AJ will be offering his usual unlimited supply of unsolicited opinions. We tried composting them, but the worms asked to speak to management.
Want to stay informed about upcoming gatherings? Join the C-List by emailing rrcigarmeetup@gmail.com for meetup details and announcements. It’s the most exclusive list in town that will accept you based entirely on your ability to provide an email address.
October 28: Come celebrate Vegetarian Awareness Month with the Cigar Kings.
Eat your vegetables at home. Come smoke your salad with us.
