On Sept. 9, the Robson Ranch Ladies Club invited the Eloy Santa Cruz Library Director Russ Ketchum to speak to the members about the library’s new services. He began by describing how the Eloy Library, along with 11 other area libraries, are part of the Pinal County Library District. One library card is good at all the libraries, though it’s important to keep in mind that each library has their own policies, late fee schedules, and governing boards.
On the Pinal County Library District website, there is information about how to download ebooks, a calendar of events, an electronic renew item feature, and the ability to access library accounts. Movies, magazines, and audio books also are available through digital services.
In addition, county and city resources, court forms, Kelly Blue Book, Medline (the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies), text prep, study guides, and digital archives can be downloaded through the library system. More information about museums and historical societies can be found on the library’s FaceBook page. For example, on Sept. 21, the Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day began giving out two free tickets to area museums. Details about the library’s future plans can be found on their website, too.
Finally, Russ stated that book club kits are available at the library. If you don’t see a book that your club needs, he would be glad to order it for you. Who knew?
The Robson Ranch Ladies Social Club’s mission is to provide opportunities for social interaction among its members who are residents of Robson Ranch Arizona, to provide philanthropic donations to our community, and to educate ourselves about our local area and region. We’re always happy to welcome new members to the club. We meet the second Monday of the month at 11 a.m. in the restaurant. Reservations are encouraged, so reserve your spot, contact Geri Nagy at [email protected].
