The Tennis Club at Robson Ranch hosted two intercommunity tennis socials this winter season. One competitive tennis social was against Province in Maricopa; the other was Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch. The three communities each played a home match and an away match with one another. Teams competed in men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles playing one-hour sets. The “winning” community was able to win more sets than the other and “bragging” rights for next year.

At this time Robson has played both home matches. Although Province is a very strong team we were able to compete with them quite well. After all the sets were played, Province ended up being the winner but the sets were very close in score. The day Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch came to play the winds decided to kick up! Battling 25 plus mph winds definitely was a challenge all players faced! In the end Robson was able to win more sets!

Lunch was served to all players and their non-playing guests. We look forward to traveling to the two communities to compete on their home courts.

Be sure to check out the bulletin boards outside the Sports Club for all the activities planned for the Tennis Club: monthly Friday Night Socials, weekly Social Round Robin play, “Wearing the White” for Wimbledon Tennis Social.
