Lisa Workman and the shelves of glazes
We have a “Glazing Wizard” at the Ceramics and Pottery Club. Her name is Lisa Workman. She can tell you anything you want to know about how to glaze your latest project. And she did just that at a recent Advanced Glazing Class for club members.
You can use a brush or a sponge to apply the glaze. Or you can dip it. You can use one color to cover the entire piece, or you can layer colors. Use flux to make the colors run. Use black wax to highlight.
High fire vs. low fire. Amaco vs. Mayco. Underglaze vs. stain vs. wash. Confused? Thank goodness Lisa is there to guide us in making those tough decisions.
You’re welcome to stop in any time to see the artists at work. Hours are posted just inside the door. Maybe you’ll want to give it a try. Hope to see you there!
