The Ropin’ In Yer Relatives genealogy group had their member kickoff picnic on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Our hosts were Mary Beth and George Fisher. The theme was Americana, and some of the food included sloppy Joes, deviled eggs, potato salad, broccoli salad, chocolate chip cookies, and bread pudding with a whiskey sauce.
President Dan Wheeler introduced the board and let members know about upcoming events. He also asked members to share any new genealogy discoveries that were made over the summer.
Ropin’ In Yer Relatives genealogy club meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month from November through March. Meetings are at 6 p.m. in the Laredo Room. To join the club, the dues are $20 or $25 for a couple and can be paid at any meeting. Dues are used to pay for the speakers and support the year-end and kickoff meetings.
