What an amazing event we had! This year marks the first ever Robson Turkey Trot. On behalf of the Try-a-Tri committee, we want to thank you all for coming out, bringing your family members, and celebrating Thanksgiving with us. A final total of 207 participants gathered at Elevate Movement Studios and took off for their walk. The Turkey Trot offered three different routes, #1 or “Just the Turkey” was 1.4 miles, #2 “Turkey & Dressing” was 2.9 miles, and #3 “Turkey, Dressing, & Pumpkin Pie was 3.5 miles. Upon completion of the walk participants enjoyed donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate.
We enjoyed seeing the spirited costumes, the laughter, and making shared memories with everyone. We would also like to thank our volunteers and Marv Enerson for taking some great pictures and videos. If you want to view some pictures, visit rraz.us/2024TurkeyTrot/index.html.
Now it is time to start training for the RRAZ Try-a-Tri scheduled for March 8, 2025! Look ahead for help in training for the Swim portion as well as the Cycle portion. Information will be coming out very soon! We are currently running the Fit for Life Walking Program, which is headed up by John Corbett. A special thanks to John for giving his time and efforts in creating this program! There are approximately 60 people meeting on Saturdays for their walking session. The Fit for Life Walking Program trains participants who are now sedentary to gaining the ability to walk a 5K! As a bonus many residents who already walk are motivating and encouraging the new walkers during the Saturday morning sessions!
Here’s to a happy and healthy new year!
