What do you see when you look at fabric in a store?

I’ll tell you what the Material Girls see. We see bed quilts, lap quilts, and baby quilts. We see blouses and skirts, place mats, table runners, pillows, and wall hangings. We see microwave bowl covers, purses, wallets, and oh so much more!

In many cases, material is just the springboard of the creative process. There is machine embroidery or hand embroidery, machine applique or hand applique, free-form or die-cut. Imagination makes the sky the limit.

Of course, there is also the quilting. With our long arm machine, we have talented people who take quilting to an art form. That could be you, too!

The product most enjoyed by the Material Girls is friendship and the fun of working together. Many of us just enjoy sewing with friends and seeing what everyone is doing. We do have classes for all levels and interests.

Melody Peebles and her committee keep us in beautiful fabric for our many craft fair projects and our comfort quilts. Comfort quilts are given to homeowners at Robson in times of health crisis or death. We also support the Children’s Advocacy Center and Eloy Police Department.

If you like fabric, come see us in the Creative Arts Center. Our studio is open Monday afternoons, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
