Check your calendars! Don’t forget that the Fall Fundraising Event for the 100+ People Who Care will start at 10 a.m. on Oct. 30 in the Laredo Room at Robson Ranch. Come meet new people and find out about the many charitable organizations in Pinal County that need our help. The two selected charities for the fall event will have representatives making presentations at the meeting so that you can decide which group you want to support with your donations.
In the past few years, the group has been able to raise thousands of dollars for dozens of charitable organizations in Pinal County. These organizations included: Seeds of Hope, Santa Cruz Food Bank, Pet Action League, Boys & Girls Club, Against Abuse, St. Vincent de Paul of Casa Grande, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, Santa Cruz Food Bank, The Hope Coalition, Valley Humane Society, Teen Challenge—Home of Hope, Hospice Charitable Fund of Central Arizona, Sparrow Campaign, The Opportunity Tree, Honoring/Hiring/Helping Our Heroes of Pinal County, and The Museum of Casa Grande.
One hundred percent of the donations go directly to the charities presenting on that day. 100+ People Who Care receives no funds for salaries or administrative overhead.
The 100+ People Who Care Steering Committee members are open to new suggestions from Pinal County residents on who they might be able to help in their future events. Feel free to contact the current chair of this committee, Tom Moyer, with suggested 501(c)(3) organizations within Pinal County. Please include contact names and phone number information as soon as possible and a little brief information about that organization to allow the planning team time to contact them and vet the suggested groups. Two charities are voted on prior to the spring and fall events and then vetted fully to ensure they meet the criteria before being invited to present at each event.
If you are a person who likes to help but you do not have a lot of time to invest, this is the organization for you to think about joining. You will be helping several great causes throughout your community consistently along with many others.
The team is always looking to increase its membership. Those who are curious about the group or want to suggest a possible charity for the group to consider may contact Tom Moyer by sending an email [email protected].
