Summertime and the flying is early and sporadic, but the Robson RC Flyers is still alive and well. We don’t have a paved runway or large cactus but have a lot of free air to fly in which to enjoy our planes. And we can get there with a golf cart!
There is still an active cadre of flyers using the field in the AM starting from 6:30 to 7:30 and occasionally a brave soul during the heat of the day. Visitors and new member prospects are always welcome to come and chat about the hobby. Our usual flying days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with some intrepid individuals that don’t care what day of the week it is. They just go fly when the coffee is brewed and the winds are mild. The early birds get the light winds…usually. The monsoon breezes tend to alter the wind patterns in the summer so flexibility is the key to enjoying flying.
Come and fly with us! All Robson residents are welcome, and the AMA licenses are not required. Membership fees are reasonable (free for the summer). Club meetings will resume in the fall when the winter residents return.
