Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Donations

Pat Sand

The Roving Ranchers’ Christmas Golf Cart parade was on Friday, Dec. 15. The weather was perfect at 75 degrees with clear skies and sunshine when the group started to line up at the softball field. About 50 carts participated.

Four boxes were set up for donations to Toys for Tots. Donations overflowed the boxes, and many bags of toys were placed beside them. The generosity of the Robson Ranch residents was awesome.

The Robson Ranch Singers entertained the group with carols prior to the parade. They encouraged everyone to sing along. The singing got everyone in the holiday mood.

Residents went all out decorating their carts with tinsel, lights, wrapping paper, and more. The creativity exhibited by residents was phenomenal. People wore festive clothes and shouted “Merry Christmas” as they drove past bystanders watching the parade. Along the route, which went around the community, parade participants were greeted with shouts and cheers as well as some drive-by libations and Christmas cookies.

The parade ended in the overflow parking lot. The Eloy Fire Department parked their electric lighted fire truck in the lot. Residents were delighted with an electric light show accompanied by music. A couple of firefighters climbed on top of the truck. They wore lighted costumes and danced in time to the music. It was quite the show to conclude the parade festivities.
