Building a Strong Foundation

A preview of the 24-foot lighted obelisk at the Arizona Heroes Memorial, currently under construction

A 24-foot obelisk will grace the southern Arizona skyline this year, offering new views of the Oro Valley horizon. The Arizona Heroes Memorial is on target to finish construction by late spring and will offer a plethora of activities for tourists and residents alike! Its scenic setting and landscaping will only be enhanced by the 3,000 seat amphitheater and Legacy Garden, all of which provides for abundant opportunities that pay tribute to our heroes.

Currently, several major companies are building the foundation in Naranja Park for our state’s newest tourist attraction. Spencer Construction and The WLB Group are our premier sponsors, gratuitously providing their services, expertise, and equipment to create this lasting legacy for the state of Arizona. They can be found onsite during any given weekday to ensure all is in place for the anticipated ribbon cutting ceremony. Many other companies are also providing gratis assistance in this massive endeavor. Folks like Parsons Steel, 1st American Solar, Cemex, Diversified Design & Construction, and others will forever be memorialized as a vast team of experts who came together to honor our heroes. We cannot thank them enough.

Our corporate sponsors exhibit the very traits for which this tribute has been planned. Our military, first responders, and healthcare workers are in professions with rich histories of giving selflessly and dutifully for the purpose of something larger than themselves. We are witnessing these values everyday in Oro Valley as we experience each step of the build. We invite you to visit our YouTube channel for video of the build (@AHMCommunity).

We continue to plan for the many activities that will be hosted at the Arizona Heroes Memorial.  As we watch our skyline slowly change, the 24-foot lighted obelisk will add a layer of beauty to our mountainous horizon. The Memorial, and its team of builders, literally reflect the notion that anything of substance needs a strong foundation. Every aspect of this build exudes the traits and values shown by our Arizona heroes.
