Our presenter, Duane Roen, has been researching his family history since he was a teenager. Today, his family tree includes more than 32,000 ancestors! While that number may sound incredible, Duane began exactly where every genealogist does—with one person.
In this engaging, beginner-friendly session, Duane will share the simple steps to start building your family tree, where to find reliable records, and how to avoid common mistakes that can send new researchers down the wrong path. Along the way, he’ll share stories from his own genealogy journey, including the surprises, successes, and lessons he’s learned over decades of research.
