Lois Moncel, Director of Fitness & Wellness
The 2025 Try-A-Tri took place on March 8 and it was a spectacular event with fantastic volunteers and committee members. The athletes worked so hard the last couple of months so if you have a friend who competed give them a huge high five!
We stepped up our game a little this year and added a fitness timing company, “On Your Left Timing,” to provide the timing for the event. Each athlete wore a chip around their ankle and they were timed from the moment they started to the very end when they crossed the finish line. Thank you for helping make this a successful event!
In addition to adding a fitness timing company we added sponsors to our event. This year sponsors either provided funding to offset some of the expenses for our event, provided items for the athletes’ goody bags, or offered their services to make our day successful. The 2025 sponsors included: Elite Shutters & Blinds, Mid-State Refrigeration, Odysseus Arms, Stephano Slack LLC, Roger Morsch—State Farm Agent, Sole Sports/Runners Den, Scott’s Pest Control, Theresa and Brian Renegar, Cook-E-Jar, Apex Physical Therapy, Round Trip Bike Shop, Robson Ranch Golf Club, Launi Ethington (RR Massage Therapist), and David Wright (RR Massage Therapist).
Thank you to the Robson Singers who kicked off the day by singing a beautiful rendition of the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems.
A big thank you to the Robson Softball Club for allowing us to use the field and for changing their game schedule. They also provided the music and awesome, energetic announcing.
Now for the Winners!

We had two wonderful photographers volunteering their time, Jeff Doorn and Marv Enerson. Thank you so much. If you want to check out pictures from the Try-A-Tri 2025 event, visit the Robson Ranch Arizona website.
The committee members began planning the event in October of 2024. There is a lot of collaborating, scheduling, communicating, time, and effort that goes into an event like our Try-A-Tri. A big thank you to the committee members: Carolyn and Jim Vahrenwald (co-event directors), Margaret Arena, Sue Barber, Sue Brockhoff, John Corbett, Jennifer Dearman, Dawn Evans, Charlsie Hoggatt, Jim Katz, Lois Moncel, and Yvette Wilson.
On behalf of the Try-A-Tri Committee we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made this such a successful event. We truly love the athletes’ commitment and dedication, and the smiles and feelings of accomplishment that can be seen on every athlete’s face at the end of the triathlon is so rewarding. Our hats off to all of you! Until next year…
