In September, Hurricane Helene literally decimates much of North Carolina. In January, raging wildfires in and around LA destroy thousands of homes in Pacific Palisades and Altadena .For the last year and a half, we’ve witnessed horrific violence and war in the Middle East. We’ve witnessed unrest on our campuses, and the world rising up to see Israel wiped off the face of the earth. For the past two years the senseless Ukrainian and Russian war rages on. Here at home, unchecked border crossings allow violent gangs into our major cities; immorality and inflation seem to rise unchecked and new diseases threaten to plague us every day. What’s going on? Is all the unchecked evil in our world just something that just happens, or are these signs of our times indicative of something else?
When you stop to look at all the suffering, tragedies, and senseless violence in our world today, not only does it cause us to be anxious about the future, but it can make us wonder if we are experiencing what the Bible calls, “the end times.” If you’ve ever wondered why all the evil in this world seems to be escalating; if you’ve ever wondered where history is heading, or if there is really any hope for mankind; then perhaps it’s time we looked at what God’s Word says about all the signs of our times. And to help us do this, beginning sometime in February, we are going to take our Sunday mornings and begin looking into what God’s Word says about the signs of our times in the book of Revelation.
So, if the signs of our times have caused you some anxiety or concern, or if you just want to know what God’s Word says about where all history is headed, then let me encourage you to join us in February as we learn from His Word why all these strange things are happening today.
