The Ranch Travel Group made up of numerous Robson Ranch residents just returned from the cruising event of 2024 in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea aboard the Windstar Cruises’ yacht, the Star Legend.
This sailing was the only 15-day sailing in 2024 that had the same stellar itinerary and all on a ship with fewer than 320 guests.
The group left Phoenix on Sept. 15 and flew to Barcelona for three days of sightseeing and exploring the city of 1.6 million.
Highlights in Barcelona were many and included the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, the Picasso Museum, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, and so much more … even the America’s Cup Yacht race was occurring while there!
The restaurants in Barcelona are fantastic—they are everywhere and included the famous paella, croquettes, tapas, and wine bars to indulge our appetites and thirst for everything Spanish.
On Sept. 19, we all embarked on the beautiful Star Legend yacht for 15 days of unmatched sailing from Barcelona to the Greek Isles, with only 312 guests enjoying the spacious all-suite ship and five eateries.
Windstar Cruises is the only cruise line in the world partnering with the renowned James Beard Foundation and the gastronomic delights were worthy of 5-star restaurants.
Our yacht made port calls in Sardinia, Trapani, Messina, Argostoli, Corfu, and cruising the Corinth Canal, which the large mega ships cannot do!
Other port calls were Mykonos, Kusadasi, where we had dinner at the ancient relics of Ephesus under the star and a Turkish Orchestra quartet. Then, we anchored at Patmos, Santorini, Monemvasia, and Nafplio, where we hiked the 966 steps of the Fortress of Palamidi.
In Athens we climbed to see the famous Acropolis and the other amazing historical sites only to be seen in Greece.
Coming up for the Ranch Travel Group is another Dreams of Tahiti with 50 residents in Robson Ranch already signed up for this bucket list sailing in Tahiti and French Polynesia—stops include Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, and a private island barbecue party at Taha’a and a Polynesian Traditional Fire Dancing Feast in the Bora Bora Lagoon at another private island.

Windstar Cruises allows its guests to reach special places on their yachts like Misty Fjords and more, on the inside passage sailing, that the large mega ships cannot maneuver close to, due to their size and drafts.
