Fall! It’s finally arrived in Arizona. As we welcome the cooler weather, we also welcome back our snow (or rain) birds, the fortunate ones who were able to escape a truly brutal summer. Fifty-two consecutive days over 110 degrees defines “brutal!” As the good weather brings back many of our good friends, it also marks the start of a busy holiday season here at the Ranch.
Fall also welcomes the semi-annual Craft Fair, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 in the Hermosa Ballroom. Many clubs and individuals sell their creations, which are always temptingly beautiful! Material Girls will have a table this year with hand, knee, and foot mats, microwave hot pad bowls, and more.
We also use this opportunity to finish up a year of selling raffle tickets to win the beautiful 2023 Quilt. Called Lemoyne Trails, it is a wall-hanging size (45” x 57”) in bright primary colors. Tickets are available in the Creative Arts Center (CAC) sewing room on Monday afternoon, Wednesday, and Friday and will be sold at the Craft Fair on the day of the drawing. This is our club’s annual fundraising effort, which supports the purchase of materials for the construction of Comfort Quilts for both residents and abused/traumatized children at the Pinal County Family Advocacy Center.
Ticket prices: $1=1 ticket, $5=6 tickets, $10=12 tickets, $20=25 tickets.
