Lois Moncel, Director of Fitness & Wellness
Are you new to the Community? The gym? Maybe you decided that it’s time to get back in the swing of exercising and need a refresher at the gym?
Before COVID, the Sports Club offered orientations in the gym to new residents in a group setting. However, we had to stop offering those orientations, and now we are resuming Fitness Orientations but in a different way. In March, we launched our new Wellness Wednesday Program. Every Wednesday we will offer time slots that a resident can reserve for one or two people. We will also be giving Wednesday Wellness Tips just to keep you on your toes.
Our goal in the Sports Club is to help residents become familiar with the gym and feel confident that they can work out safely and reap the benefits that exercise can offer. Whether you’re just starting out, getting back to exercising after a break, or have specific questions regarding exercising with a chronic condition, we want to help! Below are some of the topics that we are able to offer resources and information on:
* Tips on exercising with chronic back, hip, or shoulder pain
* How to include exercise when you suffer from certain chronic health
* Physical activity and everyday activities go together—ask about functional exercise
* Ask about a Basic Fitness Assessment to get your starting baseline
There is no fee for this orientation and masks are mandatory. Reservations are required and can be made through our Reservation System. For information on how to reserve an orientation time, email Lois Moncel, director of Fitness & Wellness, at [email protected].
