On August 19 the second session of “Cooking with the Chef” was held. Eight enthusiastic and willing “students” enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with Chef Dustin. Following his direction we learned some of his secrets on chopping and dicing peppers, onions and garlic, as well as how to cut and trim rib eye steaks.
Chef Dustin shared his recipes for campfire baked beans, Mexican street corn and his green chile cornbread. After preparing and cooking our food over a campfire we all enjoyed eating this superb meal. The finale was freshly made s’mores.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on session and eagerly await the next one scheduled for September 16.
