Lady Lynx 9-Hole Thursday Golf Season Launch

Ruth Faivre

The Lady Lynx 9-Hole Thursday golf season opens again this year with Cart Path Only (no carts on the green-walking only) golf running October 22 through November 5. Regular play starts November 12. Sign up as before, each week, in the hot pink Lady Lynx Binder signup sheets at the Pro Shop.

This year, for Cart Path Only golf, we will be golfer’s choice whether they ride alone or pair up two to a cart. Rented carts this year are $5 for 9 holes.

During Cart Path Only golf, you have the option to play your nine holes either as a par 3 for those golfers who prefer shorter distances for walking or play the course as normal and walk the entire distance while on the green. It’s your choice. There will be stakes marking the par 3 tee for holes 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. The first group going out installs the stakes and the last group picks them up, like what we do for scrambles.

We are using our standard guideline of double par for number of strokes allowed per hole. That means if you are on a par 5, the most strokes you can take are ten. You will need to pick up your ball after double par strokes to keep up with your group, which is our only steadfast rule. Par 4 and par 5 holes will play as normal.

Our first tee-off time is at 2 p.m. this year. Remember, each week you play, you must be ready to golf 30 minutes before your tee time with Pro Shop green fees paid and in your carts with your partners to avoid delays. The first group must arrive by 1 p.m. and be ready to rock and roll by 1:30. All players, be sure to check in with Coordinator Arleen Myers as well as pay your fees at the Pro Shop first thing when you arrive.

We will have scrambles this year, but no shot gun starts and will release the scramble dates later as well as information about the annual meeting.

Robson Ranch golf fees this year are as follows:

• Oct. 20 through Nov 6: $25 for 9 holes

• Nov. 7 through Dec 31: $30 for 9 holes

• Jan. 1 through May 31: $35 for 9 holes
