Car and truck races will begin at RC Flying Field.

Kevin Rattey

Join us for some fun racing right here at the Ranch. Plans are in the works to hold weekly races at the RC Flying Field (Harris Hawk/Cherry Oak). All skill levels will be welcome, and the race levels will be by classification: Beginner, Intermediate or Expert. Beginners are especially welcome, and the club will have trainer cars available to assist in getting you started.

There will be a men’s division and a ladies’ division. Special event races will include spouse (partner) verses spouse (partner) as well as inter-community challenges. The RC field has worktables for the drivers, a covered area for the spectators and ample space to park your golf cart, bike or car.

The spring and summer months will provide an opportunity to train and practice your racing skills. During the season (October to April) the races will include a point system so we can crown the champions at the season’s end. The Robson Ranch AZ Cup series perhaps?

RC cars/trucks will be limited to battery operated only and 1/10th scale, short course off-road cars/trucks.

The emphasis will be on having fun. Membership in the Robson Ranch Radio Control Club will be required, and the annual dues will be $20 to help cover the upkeep of the racing area.

Recommendation for RC Car purchases, to join the club or for more information contact Kevin Rattey at [email protected] or 520-510-9771 or any of the RC Club members.
