Saturday, November 7, will be the Ceramics and Pottery Club’s third annual fall sale. It will take place in the Laredo and Cheyenne rooms at our clubhouse during the hours of 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The C/P Club has grown tremendously the past six years. We started out with just a handful of residents and have grown to over 70. The club is open to all residents regardless of ability or past experience. Some of our members have lots of previous experience and are excellent in what they do. They are only too happy to help our new members. This is definitely a club where you learn as you go with everyone helping you along the way.

We are frequently asked the question of the difference between ceramics and pottery. In ceramics you are working with a preformed piece, usually purchased, and you do the glazing and finishing work adding whatever individuality you choose. In pottery you start by creating your own piece from clay, purchased at the club, and then finish it how you choose. The club holds classes throughout the year teaching whatever you need to know for both methods.

The pieces of art created by our members are beautiful and unique. This will be a great opportunity to do holiday shopping all in one stop and perhaps even pick up something beautiful for yourself.

Please mark your calendar for November 7. We hope to see you all there.
