Wood shop ramps up

Ken Hansen

Like so many of the Creative Arts groups, the wood shop has ramped up to a higher level of activity during this peak season.

The shop continued open and active all summer, but now as more members return the shop is open five days a week from 9:00 to 3:00. The ramp up is also evident in the scheduling of new training classes to be held this winter season.

Monitors in the wood shop have helped many Robson Ranch residents with minor woodworking projects such as building simple tables, shortening stools and helping on small projects. In return we have been the recipient of many donations of money, tools and good will.

During the summer months members continued to create works of art as well as many practical items including bowls, pens, lazy susans and a large number of serving boards for the Tack Room. Some of these items will be shown during the Creative Arts Show on November 19 from 10:00 to 2:00 outside the Creative Arts Studios and Shops. At that show there will be items for sale, and the wood shop will be holding an open house.

The wood shop is a great facility for novices as well as expert woodworkers to work, learn and make new friends. If you are interested in becoming a member, stop into the shop, which is next to the IGA store, or contact Ken Hansen at kenhansen@ aol.com or call 425-765-5147.
