Walk to end Alzheimer’s set for November 21

Are you planning to walk with your club or friends and join the fun? What a great way to start your Saturday—exercise, walk your dog and make a difference in helping fund the research to find a cure for this devastating and dreaded disease. It is a three-mile walk from the baseball park, down Robson Blvd, left on Anasazi Dr., left on Posse Drive and back to the baseball field. It would be great if clubs walked together dressed to identify their group. To sign up as a team member or donate to a team or individual, please go to http://act.alz.org/goto/robsonranch. The walk starts at 9:00 a.m. Please be in front of the baseball bleachers between 8:15 and 8:30. There will be snacks available, so you can eat, register or sign in, meet up with your team and be ready to “hit the street” at 9:00 a.m. Everyone needs to check-in to get your Memory Flower Windmill, to write names on it of people you are walking for, receive your drawing ticket and pick up your shirt if you raised $100 or more. At 8:50 Cindy, Regional Director of Desert Southwest Chapter of Alzheimer’s, will give some instructions, so please listen for the alert. There will be golf carts following to pick up anyone who feels walked out. You can ride your bike or drive your golf cart instead of walking! There is no registration fee, but this is a fundraiser to help the research needed to slow down, avoid or stop this illness that could totally change your life or someone you know.
