Street smarts and road safety at Robson Ranch

Are there real speed limits to be obeyed here at Robson Ranch? Can anyone drive a golf cart around the Ranch? Is it okay to let guests park their cars on the street or their RV in the lots around the Ranch house?

This month’s article addresses a few of the more frequently encountered Traffic Regulations, an area covered in detail in the Robson Ranch CG Homeowners Association, Inc. Community Rules document, always available at www.robsonranchazhoa.org under “documents.”

As more and more seasonal residents return, the volume of “vehicles” (including golf carts) also increases. With this comes an upsurge in the number of potential accidents and near misses on our streets.

“Vehicles” at Robson Ranch include automobiles, trucks, golf carts, recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Moving violations and associated fines within the Ranch are the same for each of these forms of transportation.

There are established speed limits within Robson Ranch, and it is a violation to exceed them. If there is no posted speed limit, in residential areas it is 25 miles per hour and in front of the Ranch House or any of the association buildings and parking lots the speed limit is 15 miles per hour.

You must also come to a full stop at all stop signs, including those on golf cart paths and cross walks and at crossing streets and roads prior to entering the intersection.

The grandkids are visiting and that cute little golf cart, looking like something straight from Disneyland, is so tempting! However, it is a violation to allow anyone under the age of 16 to operate a golf cart in Robson Ranch, and the driver must have a valid driver’s license in his/her possession. Enabling a child to steer while in a driver’s lap is also not permitted.

There is no parking permitted on the streets between the hours of midnight and 5:00 a.m. It is intended that all vehicles be kept in garages and driveways. Temporary parking on the street must be authorized in advance and in writing by the General Manager at the HOA office.

RVs and oversized vehicles may be parked up to, but not to exceed, 48 hours for loading and unloading purposes, which is limited to four times in each calendar month. It is a violation to park an RV in any designated parking lot overnight without prior written permission from the General Manager at the HOA office. Sleeping in RVs while parked in Robson Ranch is prohibited.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the HOA office, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
