Softball Club’s 2018 – 2019 season ends; spring league begins March 7

Robson Ranch fielded three teams for the fall season that ran from October through mid-December with the Robson teams taking first, second and third place. The Renegades coached by Randy Petersen won the league with a 12–2 mark while the Raptors coached by Pat Kohls finished second at 11-3 and the Rangers coached by Ron Carpenter also finished at 11-3 to take third place. The Raptors officially finished second ahead of the Rangers due to the head-to-head tiebreaker.

For the winter league Robson Ranch fielded two B league teams and one C league team. At the time of the writing of this article there are four games left and the two B league teams are in a tight battle with the Palm Creek B team for first place. The Robson Ranch C team coached by Chris Wilson including an influx of new players who haven’t played ball for a lot of years started slowly, but improved every game and became very competitive. For the second year in a row Robson Ranch hosted winter league games on Tuesdays and Thursdays on our very own ball field, giving Robson residents the opportunity to enjoy some quality softball.

For the first time, there will be a short four-week spring league beginning on March 7. Robson Ranch will be fielding two teams for this league. Each team will play a double-header every Tuesday and Thursday at Palm Creek.

Starting in April, there will be batting practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. on our field for residents who are still around. These practices will run until September when we start getting prepared for the fall league with Paul Lewinski’s annual skills and drills camp. If you are interested in playing and you see us out on the field please don’t hesitate to come over and say hello.
