RRLGA 50s themed Member Guest Tournament

The Robson Ranch Ladies Golf Association hosted its Member/Guest tournament March 7 and 8. Barbara Gayer and her committee: Susan Worner, Cheryl Babb, Teresa Baxter, Layne Jones, Joanne Heimann and Patti Baumann, planned the two-day, 50s theme event. The festivities kicked off with a scavenger hunt tour through our model homes. Each home featured an item needed to obtain an ice cream sundae or root beer float (spoon, cup, straw, sprinkles, etc.) at the end of the tour where players met up with Heather and Trent who served the ladies their ice cream treat.

The member and her guest, donning their 50s poodle attire, then proceeded to Mary Enerson’s 50s-style golf cart for a team photo taken by Marv, Robson Ranch’s photographer. Thank you, Marv! The teams proceeded to the golf course for the partner skills event that included putting, chipping, flop shots, accurate drive and sand shots. A little weather flurry forced our teams to retreat to the Tack Room before the official cocktail party kicked off in Sara’s Diner. A scrumptious variety of appetizers and a variety of drinks were enjoyed by our teams. Robson’s own Cactus Blossoms performed a couple of 50s hits beginning with the choreographed Chapel of Love. It was an outstanding performance, setting the tone of this fun event! Elvis, aka Bill Srenaski, provided a variety of 50s music and some great Elvis impressions. Thank you, Bill, and Jeff Jones for the sound system. You kept the gals on the dance floor to the very last song!

Tuesday our ladies were greeted by the RRMGA guys for the 7:00 a.m. registration. Each player received a handmade polka dot goodie bag filled with the day’s necessities: water, popcorn, tees, 50s-theme ball markers, etc. Our flighted groups, The Supremes, The Sensations, The Marvelettes and The Crystals enjoyed a fun morning on the course. The tournament was topped off with the awards luncheon at Sara’s Diner. Everyone won something: door prizes and cash prizes plus special raffle drawings for a Mexico condo stay and original artwork.

The committee would like to thank everyone for their help and contributions, including:
