Robson unplugged

John Sutton

We’ve got something new and exciting coming to the Tack Room on January 13, 2016. We’re calling it Robson Unplugged, and by all accounts it should be an event series that everyone will enjoy attending.

In case you haven’t noticed, our community is blessed with many talented people in the musical arts. We have a diverse group of folks who can perform a number of different genre. Many of these individuals and groups don’t get the opportunity to showcase their talents in a public setting. This is no longer the case, and it is time for them to “step up to the microphone” and strut their stuff. Hey, I’m told Elvis is already practicing for the event as we speak!

We are going to turn the Tack Room into a coffee house environment (they serve food and alcohol in some coffee houses, right?) and feature our talented friends in the Robson community. This is not a jam session or an open mic. These will be regular acoustic performances in a setting where the artists will be rewarded for their hard work! Let’s get out and support them.

At this time we are making a list of interested performers. We are also looking at the possibility of theme nights. It all depends upon who participates and the type of music the participants will be playing. We are also open to suggestions as to what you would like to hear as an audience member. Pull out that favorite song because someone should be able to play it. We’ve got singers, pianists, banjo pickers, trombone players, accordions, lots of guitars, ukes, harmonicas and probably more that we are not aware of.

As we get closer to the dates look for the line ups, and then come on out and have some fun. Our scheduled dates are: January 13, February 3, March 16. April 20 and May 25.
