Robson Tennis Club competes against SunBird

On Saturday, November 12, the community of SunBird in Chandler traveled to Robson to compete in a one-day mini-tennis tournament. The players competed in women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles beginning at 9:00 a.m. This year it was Robson Ranch Tennis Club’s turn to host.

Beginning with a continental breakfast and coffee, the first four teams took the courts. Due to time constraints teams would not play sets/matches; instead the teams played for 50 minutes, accumulating total number of games won. After the five-minute warm-up, the game began.

Lunch was served for all tennis players, RR tennis club members and guests of the players. Thanks to Phyllis and Andy Gayer and Terry and Stan Lukasik who took the responsibility for the food ordering, set-up and clean-up.

At the end of the day Robson Ranch Tennis Club won this tournament by a score of 10-8! We always have such a wonderful time with SunBird, and we look forward to competing with them next year when they host us.

Thanks to Richard and his team who set up the tables and hung up the banner for the tournament!
