Last month the new executive board took the reins, and it is proving to be a learning experience. All of the officers are new to the board. Kay McMurray and Ann White are the co-chairs. Sandy Christopher is the treasurer and Barbara Engelhardt is the secretary. The board members want to remind the entire community that they are invited to attend the monthly luncheons.

The January meeting was busy. Linda Walker was the lucky winner of a trip to Talking Stick Casino in the raffle to support the Book Scholarship. Debbie Miller, Pastor, Estrella Community Church and Alice Tipton, Eloy Centro Christiani, presented a plaque to RRALSC to thank us for baking desserts for their hot lunch program. The plaque stated: In Appreciation For Your Community Service To Feed The Hungry Of Eloy On Behalf Of Blessings International Ministries.

Marge Jantz and Marilyn Gallagher, Casa Grande Historic Preservation Commission, described their efforts to put Casa Grande on the map. They have already listed about 50 properties on the historical record. One of their most interesting projects is preserving neon signs that were on State Route 84 (Jimmy Kerr) before Interstate 10 was built. These signs will be displayed on businesses in town.

The February luncheon will be held in the main dining room at 11:15 on Monday, February 13. There are two choices for the meal: cold chicken wrap with chips or Reuben Sandwich with fries.

The cost is listed on the RR menu. Drinks, tax and gratuity are extra. You may use your Robson card to pay and thereby get the resident discount. Make your reservation, including your menu selection, no later than February 6 by emailing Geri Nagy at [email protected]. Geri prefers to receive reservations by email, but if that is not possible call her at 836-6249.

The speaker at the February luncheon will be Cindy Sutton, Executive Director, Valley Humane Society. This society, located at 15699 W. Aniceto Road, Casa Grande, is the only no-kill facility in Pinal County. Cindy will explain the operation of the shelter and the various volunteer opportunities. The society not only operates the shelter but also provides a low cost spay/neuter program at various times during the year.

Sandy Christopher, treasurer, encourages Robson Ranch ladies to become members of RRALSC. The cost is $10 per year. These are due by April 2017. Only members may vote on any club issues.

New attendees, please look for our Ambassador of the Year, Carole Crain, who will be at the registration table to answer any questions. For more information contact the 2017 co-chairs: Kay McMurray, [email protected] and Ann White, [email protected].
