January Unplugged event promises to be a hit

John Sutton

Thanks to everyone who came out for our December Unplugged event. I received lots of positive feedback on all the entertainment. A special thanks to everyone who came to see what may have been the last time Used Kar will play together. And congratulations to The Frenz Band and Mariachi Nueva Era for their fine performances.

Our January 4, 2017 (that’s right – 2017) event promises to be another great night of music. For the first time we will have a jazz quintet performing the first two sets of the evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Moore Quartet plus One will make the trip from Phoenix and will feature Duane Moore, the leader, on tenor sax and his son Rick, on trumpet and alto sax. They will be backed by a rhythm section consisting of piano, bass and drums. If you like swing music and jazz combos you will certainly enjoy this group of musicians.

For our 7:00 set we have the privilege of Wally Waluck returning to entertain us. Wally will be joined by Marilyn Konruff on dulcimer and Connie Coza on guitar. These three have been doing some traveling and have been booked in several venues outside our area. Kudos to them as they share their special style of music with others outside our vicinity and with us at Robson Ranch.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and wish for each of you that 2017 brings all the good things life has to offer.

See you at the Grill on January 4!
