It’s a family affair for the Boone family! September 21

Helen Daley

Harpist Christine Vivona always receives rave reviews after appearances for the Arizona Classic Jazz Society. The harp is not an instrument associated with traditional jazz; but, after hearing Christine’s rendition of jazz and even rock ‘n roll, you’ll wonder why it isn’t. Usually accompanied by husband Rob Boone on piano and trombone, they’ve now added the rest of the family, sons Jesse on bass and Cory on drums. This family affair lives in Tucson.

Christine received a Master of Music from the prestigious Julliard School and a Doctorate in Harp Performance from the University of Arizona. She started the harp program at Arizona State University in 1989. Still maintaining a very busy playing schedule as soloist and recording artist with famous musicians, Christine currently has a large teaching studio in Tucson and performs with her students several times throughout the year.

Rob completed his music degree from the University of Arizona in 1981. He has a long list of show credits and stars with whom he worked. He has also played on many cruise ships. Rob currently plays both trombone and piano with many groups and is on the faculty at Pima Community College teaching trombone and jazz piano.

Jesse plays upright and electric bass, classical viola and wooden flute. He is currently pursuing degrees in Theatre and Communication at the University of Arizona. He is a professional actor, appearing in over forty short films as well as Date of the Dead and Avarice. His greatest musical joy is playing with his family.

Cory began studying percussion at age five. While a junior at Canyon del Oro High School, he won the All-State Jazz Drummer Award with a perfect score, something never before achieved in the State of Arizona. Cory currently attends the University of Arizona where he is an honor student studying optical engineering. In addition to appearing with local bands, he has played with the Drifters, Platters and Coasters.
